The curriculum at ILTexas, as steered by our mission, prepares students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community by emphasizing servant leadership, mastering the English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese languages, and strengthening the body, mind and character. Further, ILTexas has a college preparatory program whereby we not only provide our students with the instruction needed to be successful in college, but with the expectation that they will attend and be successful in college and beyond.

Dear ILTexas Parents/Guardians,

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with valuable information to support your child's academic journey, we wanted to share a video that explains how to calculate the Local Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA).

Understanding your student's GPA is crucial for gauging academic progress and identifying areas where they may need additional support. The Local Weighted GPA considers the difficulty level of courses by assigning different weights to grades based on honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and dual-credit.

To assist you in navigating this aspect of your child's education, we have included a link to a short video on calculating the Local Weighted GPA. This resource breaks down the process step by step and provides clarity on how specific grades contribute to the overall GPA.

We encourage you to take a moment to review the guide at your convenience. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to reach out to Mary Albritton (malbritton@iltexas.org), Executive Director of Counseling, who will be more than happy to assist you.

Thank you for your continued partnership in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for our students. Together, we can ensure their success and well-rounded development.
