CLEVELAND, Texas– Parents in the Cleveland community can expect a new charter school coming to their location in Fall 2023. ILTexas will be opening its 24th campus, Master Sergeant Ramirez K-8 (MSG K8), which will be home to over 1400 students. This is the charter’s second K-8 school in Cleveland in addition to B.G. Ramirez K-8 which opened in Fall 2022. 

Dr. Imelda Andre will serve as principal of MSG K8. Dr. Andre has over 20 years of experience in education. She has taught as a kindergarten bilingual teacher, served as a bilingual peer facilitator, and administrator in PK-4th and 7th-8th campuses.  She attended the University of Houston for her undergraduate degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology. Dr. Andre holds a Masters in School Administration and Doctorate in Ethical Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.

Students enrolled in MSG K8 will be prepared for exceptional leadership roles in the international community, as according to the ILTexas mission statement, and be immersed in a trilingual curriculum, where classes will be taught in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
