COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Elizabeth Stanton, a junior at ILTexas Aggieland High School, has been named one of five finalists for the prestigious Military Child of the Year® Award. The annual honor, presented by Operation Homefront, recognizes exceptional military children for their leadership, resilience, academic excellence, and dedication to service.
Elizabeth, representing the U.S. Air Force, was selected from a competitive field of over 900 nominees nationwide. As a finalist, she will receive a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contributions to her school and community.
The Military Child of the Year® Award, now in its 17th year, celebrates young leaders from each branch of the armed forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Space Force. The award highlights the positive impact military children have on their families and communities while overcoming the unique challenges of military life.
The winners of the 2025 Military Child of the Year Award will be announced in April. Each recipient will be flown to Washington, D.C., along with a parent or guardian, to be honored at a formal gala attended by senior military leaders. Awardees will receive a $10,000 prize, a laptop computer, and additional donated gifts.
The gala, traditionally held during April’s Month of the Military Child, serves as a platform to honor and support military families. Operation Homefront, the organization behind the award, remains committed to recognizing the resilience and contributions of military children across the country.
