GARLAND, TX- Representatives from the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) visited the ILTexas Garland K-8 campus on November 15, where they were presented with a $4,265 donation to their foundation. The money was raised by ILTexas campuses during a fundraising campaign for NBCF.

“We are so excited to receive this donation which will be going towards providing help and inspiring hope in women who have been affected by breast cancer,” a representative from NBCF said.

The check was presented by Nurse Karen Canady Barnes, the director of health services at ILTexas along with Chief Equity Officer Regina Jones. “We were super excited that all of our campuses were able to participate in the fundraiser for the foundation,” Nurse Barnes said.

Barnes stated that the money will go towards providing mammograms to women and helping save lives. “Our [ILTexas] motto is others before self, and that’s truly what we did [with the donation].”
