Houston, TX- ILTexas is addressing an incident that occurred at ILTexas-Orem, Houston campus during an 8th Grade Celebration held on the morning of May 21, 2026, in which a fight broke out among seven female students.

ILTexas Superintendent, Mr. Eddie Conger, a retired Marine Corps Infantry Officer states, that, “school leadership’s first two responsibilities are Safety and “Good Order and Discipline”. The disruptive behavior of seven female students fighting at an 8th grade end of year ceremony is a failure of both. The behavior of the seven female students is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“At ILTexas, we hold our students to the highest standards of leadership, character, and respect for themselves and others,” Eddie Conger, stated. “The behavior of those seven female students do not reflect who we are as a community, nor do they align with the servant leadership values we work to instill in our students each day.”

An investigation into the incident is currently underway and appropriate disciplinary actions will be taken to the fullest extent of the law and will ensure strict accountability to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students.

ILTexas stressed that this type of behavior will not be tolerated on any of its campuses and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a culture grounded in respect and leadership.

The organization also expressed appreciation for the continued support of families, staff, and the broader community.
