GARLAND, T.X.- ILTexas Garland High School welcomed Texas House Member Angie Chen Button on Thursday, December 16, where she got the opportunity to tour the school  and meet with students to learn more about ILTexas’ unique mission. Representative Button was later presented with a Texas Public Charter School's Association (TPCSA) Charter Champion Award to thank her for her continued support of public charter education.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Rep. Button has long credited education as key to giving her a better life. After graduating from the University of Texas at Dallas, she established her career in North Texas, holding various leadership positions with nonprofit organizations and chambers of commerce, to name a few. She has also served on multiple Dallas-area advisory boards.

She currently serves as the Texas State Representative for House District 112 which covers areas of Dallas county including Garland and Richardson.
