HOLLY NORRIS
A decade at ILTexas has led senior Nathanael Morales toward a bright future at the University of Miami in healthcare sciences, a passion he’s nurtured with extracurricular activities and leadership positions. His college experience will be 99% covered by scholarships.
“It's been a great experience,” he said of his time at Arlington-Grand Prairie High School. He’s picked up a newfound love of political science through his time here, and hopes to possibly double major down the road. “I hope to continue to work for my master's degree and go either into law and/or athletic training.”
His career aspirations are high, hoping to find himself in Congress one day to give back to his community.
Nathanael has kept busy during his time at AGPHS, participating in Spanish Honor Society, which spearheads the campus Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. He is an ambassador for ASP, ILTexas’ Academic Success Program focused on college readiness, and serves as student council vice president. “I think I took out the most from that position, leadership styles, position and how to communicate with others whenever you're in disagreements, how to work steady on your feet.”
With co-campus ambassador Carly, Nathanael serves on the Principal Student Advisory Committee and the Superintendent Student Advisory Committee, providing student feedback to campus and charter leadership.
He’s also actively involved in sports. “I am a varsity cross country captain. I've been part of cross country for four years,” he said, expressing that his senior year has been his best experience yet. In addition to cross country, he’s been in varsity soccer and serves as a manager and assistant coach for the women’s varsity volleyball team for two years. “I'm very proud of that.”
Nathanael is incredibly thankful to Ms. Byrd, the AGPHS ASP advisor. “She was there not only to help me out through my journey, but to motivate me and keep me enthusiastic throughout my journey.”
Congratulations to Nathanael and the class of 2025!
