International Leadership of Texas (ILTexas) hosted our latest Leadership Speaker Series of 2024 on Friday, September 27 at the ILTexas Keller-Saginaw High School campus in Fort Worth, TX.
ILTexas gave a warm Eagle welcome to Captain Chris Cassidy, a decorated Navy SEAL veteran, former NASA astronaut, and now President & CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation.
Captain Cassidy discussed how his time in the SEALs prepared him for his NASA training, and what experiences shaped his leadership journey.

Captain Cassidy concluded his remarks by presenting two ILTexas Marine Corps JROTC programs – ILTexas Garland High School and ILTexas Keller-Saginaw High School – with the Naval Honor School Designation, which is awarded to the top 20% in the nation.
This will be the ILTexas Garland High Schools third year receiving the designation, and ILTexas Keller-Saginaw High Schools first year.

The ILTexas Leadership Speaker Series is for the students, by the students. In other words, they run the show! On event day, students spearhead everything from the technical set-up to introducing the speaker and forming a student panel to moderate questions, to running cameras and audio to further promote leadership among their peers.

The ILTexas mission is to prepare students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community by emphasizing servant leadership, mastering the English, Spanish and Chinese languages, and strengthening the mind, body and character. In salute to the mission, the ILTexas Leadership Speaker Series provides ILTexas High School students the opportunity to engage with and learn from some of the greatest leaders the international community has seen.
