ILTexas Garland High School Marine Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (MJROTC) has been hard at work this summer promoting their program and preparing for the upcoming school year.
On 7 August, during GHS new student orientation, MCJROTC Drill Team led by Regimental Chief of Staff Colonel Naomi Woldesenbet delivered an outstanding performance for all the new students and parents in attendance. Regimental XO Cadet LtCol Victoria Hernandez gave an impressive presentation that showcased the opportunities and values of their program. Meanwhile, CO Cadet Colonel Sophia Truong and her team staffed the information desk, answering questions and welcoming prospective cadets and their families. It was a great start to the school year and a strong display of MCJROTC professionalism.

The new MCJROTC Raider Team led by Isabella Quintero Oliveros pushed themselves through challenging training to prepare for the upcoming competition season. Their workouts have included intense 5K runs, stretcher carries, ammo can and water jug carries, and the demanding rope bridge event—an obstacle that tests skill, strength, and endurance all at once. Every practice has brought the team closer together, building not only physical ability but also mental toughness and teamwork. Their dedication and progress have been nothing short of outstanding.

ILTexas boasts the largest MJROTC program in the state. Keller-Saginaw High School and Garland High School are both Naval Honor School Designation recipients, recognized as part of the top 20% of programs in the U.S.
