Months of early morning runs and relentless training paid off as the ILTexas Garland High School Boys Varsity Cross Country Team captured the state championship this weekend!

At ILTexas, athletics are about developing leadership and perseverance, and this victory showcases both. The Garland Eagles displayed classic championship strategy: running as a pack, pacing the middle miles with control, and finishing strong when it mattered most. In cross country, every finisher counts, and the Eagles’ tight scoring spread proved decisive.

ILTexas has built a tradition of excellence, with more than 37 team state titles and over 76 individual championships since 2013. The Garland team now joins that proud legacy, raising the bar for future runners across the network.

Their win isn’t just about one race, it’s about culture. From the first stride of summer training to the final kick at state, this team showed what ILTexas athletics stand for: grit, unity, and leadership on and off the course.

Congratulations, Eagles, your hard work has made ILTexas history!
